ASSOCIATE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT ARCHITECT





Shelley Penn is a Melbourne based architect whose work has been published, exhibited and awarded nationally and internationally. She has continually contributed to the advancement of architecture and the built environment through her practice, and through writing, teaching and lecturing about architecture and design. Shelley is particularly concerned with the social and public benefits of good design, and the poetic capacity of architecture to enrich the human condition. Her work with government includes a term as Design Director in the Office of the NSW Government Architect, membership of the Victorian Design Advisory Council, and her on-going role as Urban Design Consultant to government for the EastLink project. She is a member of the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, and in December 2005 she was appointment to the role of Associate Victorian Government Architect.

- role of the OVGA
- value of good design as a fundamental ingredient in making places and spaces which are socially, culturally, environmentally and economically sustainable.
