Architects for Peace is calling for artists and designers to submit images that address the following theme
A-public space projection is a virtual competition, Zoomshop, exhibition and intervention in the façade of the Richmond Town Hall (Melbourne Australia).
This event is organised by Architects for Peace with financial support from the City of Yarra. No images will be projected onto the Town Hall. In keeping with A-public Space all is online.
Awards: $200 Interventionist Award, $150 Communication Award and $150 People’s Choice Award
Format of entries
  • Up to three images per entry. These may be considered as a dissolve sequence or three different concepts. The images may contain text as part of the design.
  • The images must be superimposed onto the image of the Town Hall provided to appear as a night projection. An open, live workshop via Zoom will be conducted on 14 May 10:00am AEST and this will be recorded and available online for the duration of the competition.
  • A PDF image as stencil is available above.
  • Image size of entries: 16 x 28 cm
  • Resolution of entries: 300 dpi

  • use of architecture
  • impact on virtual pedestrian

  • May 1: Launch
  • May 14:  Zoomshop with Yandell Walton (projection Artist). 10:00am AEST. Yandell with give a step-by-step, live tutorial on how to construct your simulated projection on the image Richmond Town. Recording available at https://vimeo.com/421134839
  • June 21: All entries must be submitted by Sunday 14 June 5:00pm AEST.Sent to anthony@architectsforpeace.org
  • June 21 - 28: Exhibition of all entries on www.architectsforpeace.org People’s Choice voting.
  • June 28: Announcement of Winners and Prizes. Posting of Winners on AFP platforms.
